The Vashon Pirates clinched the 2026 WIAA State Championship in Division 1A after a decisive 3‑0 victory over the Meridian Trojans, a result that capped an unbeaten run through the tournament.

Among the seven West Seattle residents who starred for Vashon Island High School, Marshall Wade, Connor Delcamp, Jeff Nelson, Pierce Fowler, Lewis Thompson, Mason Haynes and Caeden Miller helped steer the side to the title with a blend of skill and leadership.
The final match, held on a crisp Saturday at the state finals venue, saw the Pirates dominate possession and convert three of their chances into goals, leaving the opposition scrambling for answers.
Five seniors on the roster — Marshall Wade, Connor Delcamp, Jeff Nelson, Pierce Fowler and Lewis Thompson — closed out a four‑year high school career by hoisting the championship trophy together, a moment that drew cheers from teammates and fans alike.
