A strategic appointment
Keegan Boom has been elevated to head coach of the IU Indianapolis men's soccer program, succeeding Sid van Druenen, who concluded a four‑year stint at the helm.
Boom arrives after a season in which he served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, guiding the Jaguars to a notable non‑conference run that underscored the team’s depth and potential.
His coaching journey began at the University of Indianapolis, where over three seasons he helped the Greyhounds capture the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship in 2023, a milestone that cemented his reputation as a developer of talent.
Before arriving in Indianapolis, Boom honed his craft internationally as the ECNL Director of Coaching for FC Pride Elite, a role that expanded his tactical perspective and network across the sport.
Fluent in English, German and Dutch, Boom brings a multicultural dimension that aligns with the program’s growing global outlook.

The Athletics Department expressed confidence that Boom’s blend of experience, academic insight and community engagement will propel the program to new heights, building on the foundation laid by van Druenen.
