Keegan Boom Takes the Helm of IU Indianapolis Men’s Soccer

The former assistant coach brings a winning pedigree and multilingual vision to the Jaguars as they aim for Horizon League contention

Keegan Boom has officially taken over as head coach of the IU Indianapolis men’s soccer program, succeeding Sid van Druenen after his four‑year tenure.

Boom arrives after a three‑year stint at the University of Indianapolis, where he helped the Greyhounds capture the Great Lakes Valley Conference title and reach the NCAA Division II Super Regionals, posting a 31‑12‑14 record.

A Multilingual Visionary

Athletics Director Luke Bosso praised Boom’s vision, stating that his blend of tactical acumen and player development aligns with the department’s ambition to compete at the highest level of the Horizon League.

In his introductory remarks, Boom expressed gratitude to van Druenen and university officials, emphasizing his excitement to lead a program that aims to develop top‑tier student‑athletes and contend for conference success.

Boom’s coaching résumé includes a role as ECNL Director of Coaching for FC Pride Elite, where he honed talent across the developmental pipeline, and a stint as an assistant and recruiting coordinator for the Jaguars, contributing to a road win at Butler and a draw at Notre Dame.

The incoming coaching staff also benefits from a strong recruiting class that adds depth across every position, a factor Bosso believes will accelerate the team’s ascent.

Beyond the pitch, Boom is fluent in English, German and Dutch, a multilingual asset that reflects his Dutch roots and will aid in outreach and recruitment.

With a clear strategy and a supportive administration, the Jaguars look to translate early promise into sustained Horizon League contention.
