High School Football America, in partnership with scoutSMART, has unveiled the sixth edition of its Mississippi Academic All‑America team, spotlighting student‑athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher — or scored at least 92 on a 0‑to‑100 scale — while serving as varsity contributors during the previous season.
Celebrating Academic Excellence
The honor, which celebrates the intersection of athletic prowess and scholarly achievement, is made possible by scoutSMART’s proprietary analytics platform that evaluates players’ statistical output, on‑field skills and academic performance, providing data that college coaches across the country rely on.
This year’s roster spans a wide array of Mississippi communities, from the small town of Biggersville to the coastal city of Biloxi, and includes schools such as Booneville, Brandon, Caledonia, Charleston, Clinton, Copiah Academy, Hartfield Academy, Hernando, Horn Lake, Independence, Itawamba Agricultural, Lake Cormorant, Lamar, Laurel, Lewisburg, Louisville, Loyd Star, Madison Central, McComb, Newton, North Panola, North Pike, North Pontotoc, Oak Grove, Olive Branch, Oxford, Parklane Academy, Pascagoula, Pearl, Raymond, Ridgeland, South Panola, St. Andrew’s Episcopal, St. Martin, Starkville, Stone, Tri‑County Academy, Tupelo, Tylertown, Union, Vancleave, Vardaman, Vicksburg, Washington and Winona Christian.
Data Driving the Future
Each honoree is listed with his school, positional role and expected graduation year, underscoring the diverse geographic and athletic talent that defines the state’s football landscape.
scoutSMART’s system, which aggregates performance metrics and academic records, offers coaches a nuanced view of prospects, enabling programs to recruit athletes who meet rigorous academic standards without compromising competitive edge.
A New Narrative for Mississippi Football
The collaboration between High School Football America and scoutSMART illustrates how private‑sector technology can amplify grassroots initiatives, fostering a pipeline of scholar‑athletes prepared for the demands of collegiate competition and academic rigor.
As the 2025 season approaches, the featured students are poised to influence not only their teams’ fortunes but also the broader narrative surrounding high school sports in Mississippi, proving that excellence off the field can be as celebrated as triumphs on it.
