Baruch College Baseball Stars Earn National Academic Honor
Baruch College announced that two of its senior baseball players have been selected for the 2025‑26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All‑District Team, a distinction that highlights excellence in both scholarship and athletics.
The CSC All‑District honor roll celebrates student‑athletes who maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and who are at least sophomores, placing them among the top performers in NCAA Division III.
Sam Steinman, a senior majoring in business, carries a 3.85 GPA, while Roy Longarzo, also a senior, holds a 3.71 GPA, comfortably exceeding the eligibility threshold.
Both athletes have contributed significantly to the team’s recent successes, combining solid defensive metrics with consistent batting averages, which has helped Baruch remain competitive in the East Coast conference.
Their academic achievements are complemented by community involvement, as each has volunteered as a youth coach and participated in campus‑wide tutoring initiatives.
The recognition underscores Baruch College’s commitment to developing well‑rounded leaders, a point highlighted by the athletics department’s director, who praised the students for setting a high standard for future teams.
