Rutgers University has announced the verbal commitment of Slovenian forward Martin Tonejc, a move that bolsters the Scarlet Knights’ frontcourt ahead of the upcoming season.
A Strategic Addition to the Frontcourt
Tonejc spent the previous season with Cedevita Olimpija in the Adriatic ABA Junior League, where he posted averages of 17.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. At 20 years old, he brings four years of eligibility, giving the program a seasoned big man who can stretch the floor and protect the rim.
The commitment comes as Rutgers continues to reshape its roster, having already added eight players during the offseason. With 14 scholarship spots currently filled and one remaining open, the coaching staff is still exploring options to further strengthen the lineup, including the possibility of another international front‑court recruit.
