Auburn’s baseball team turned a rocky start into a dominant finish, rallying from an opening loss to Milwaukee to capture the Auburn Regional title.
Regional MVP Spotlight
The Tigers’ offense exploded in the final stretch, launching nine home runs across their last three games while relying on a tight five‑pitcher rotation.
At the heart of the surge was sophomore Chase Fralick, who earned All‑Regional MVP honors after a five‑game stretch that featured six homers, eight runs scored, nine hits and 15 RBI.
Joining Fralick on the All‑Regional squad were Ethin Bingaman, Chris Rembert, Cade Belyeu, Ryan Hetzler and Alex Petrovic, each contributing key hits, RBIs and a combined 32 hits that accounted for 26 of Auburn’s runs.
Pitching stood out as well, with Hetzler and Petrovic combining for 11 strikeouts against UCF, while Petrovic threw 108 innings and Hetzler 104, underscoring the staff’s depth.
Looking Ahead to the Super Regionals
Auburn now turns its attention to the Super Regionals, where they will open June 5 against Ole Miss in front of a home crowd in Auburn, Alabama. The first game will be televised on ESPN2, with Game 2 slated for ESPN.
