Community Impact
The Feather River College women's basketball program made a notable impact on the Quincy community this season by organizing and running two youth basketball camps.
The first camp, held in November 2025, welcomed co-ed fifth and sixth grade participants, where FRC student-athletes introduced fundamental drills and emphasized teamwork.
The second camp ran for nine weeks, from January through February, providing an extended platform for skill refinement and confidence building among the youngsters.
Throughout both sessions, the college athletes led drills, offered encouragement, and served as positive role models, embodying the spirit of student-athlete leadership.
Head coach Ashley Chavira praised the players for juggling rigorous academic and athletic demands while dedicating time to mentor the children, underscoring the program's culture of character and service.
The initiative has strengthened the bond between Feather River College and the Quincy community, and the team looks forward to expanding its outreach in future seasons.
