Statewide Accolades
The North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association named Ailshie its 5A Player of the Year, a distinction that reflects both individual excellence and the impact he had on his team's success. The award follows his recognition as the 3A Player of the Year the previous season, cementing his status as one of the most consistent talents in recent memory.
West Rowan also made a strong showing, placing three of its players on the 5A All‑State team. Carter Durant, a Catawba recruit, batted .500 with four homers, 37 runs and 33 RBIs. Cole Blevins, headed to UNC Wilmington, contributed five homers, nine doubles, 18 steals, 50 runs scored and 42 RBIs. Brant Graham, another Catawba commit, won nine games on the mound while providing solid offensive support.
In the 7A division, Mason Teal from A.L. Brown emerged as the Greater Metro Conference Player of the Year. A Barton College recruit, Teal earned a spot on the 7A All‑State team, highlighting the depth of talent across the state's high school programs.
The recognitions extend beyond individual stats, reflecting the collaborative efforts of high school coaches, college scouts and state organizations. The North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association, the University of North Carolina system, Catawba College, UNC Wilmington and Barton College all played roles in scouting, evaluating and celebrating these athletes' achievements.
