The College Sports Communicators (CSC) recently unveiled its 2026 Academic All-District® Baseball Team for NCAA Division III, a distinction that celebrates student-athletes who excel both competitively and academically.
Eligibility for the honor requires a minimum 3.50 grade-point average and enrollment as a sophomore, junior or senior, ensuring that the recognized players have demonstrated sustained scholarly commitment alongside their athletic pursuits.
Celebrating Academic and Athletic Excellence
This year's district team includes seven standout players from the CUNY Athletic Conference, each of whom has earned a place on the roster through a combination of on-field performance and classroom achievement.
Among the honorees are Roy Longarzo and Sam Steinman from Baruch College, Jake Brenner, Samuel Puttock, Erik Rank and Demetri Zirogiannis from City College of New York, and Hayden Tackett from John Jay College, all of whom meet the rigorous academic standards set by the CSC.
The recognition serves as a stepping stone toward the broader Academic All-America® selections, with first-, second- and third-team honorees set to be announced on June 23, offering the conference a chance to showcase its scholars on a national stage.
Beyond individual accolades, the selections underscore the CUNY Athletic Conference's commitment to fostering well-rounded student-athletes, reinforcing the notion that success in the classroom can be as rewarding as success on the diamond.
