A season of breakthroughs
The Red River High School soccer team capped a remarkable campaign by advancing to the state semifinals and securing second place in the Eastern Dakota Conference, a testament to their steady improvement throughout the year.
Coach Dan Riley praised the squad's cohesion, noting that the team's youthful energy helped them compete fiercely against stronger opponents.
All-State honors for standout players
Taylor Hodny and Reagan Hodny were both selected to the first team All-State squad, a rare achievement that places them among the state's elite. Their younger teammate, Addison Kotrba, earned a spot on the second team, underscoring the depth of talent on the roster.
The recognitions reflect not only individual skill but also the program's growing reputation, as the coaching staff highlighted the players' work ethic and tactical awareness.
A promising future
With five of the team's top offensive players still classified as sophomores or younger, the Red River program is poised for continued growth. The upcoming season offers an opportunity to build on this year's successes and aim for a conference title.
