A Strategic Move in the OHL Trade Window
The Brantford Bulldogs have completed a trade that brings 17‑year‑old defenceman George Komadoski from the Flint Firebirds into their roster, surrendering a third‑round selection in the 2027 OHL Priority Selection.
Komadoski, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, spent the 2025‑26 season with the Firebirds, appearing in 50 games and contributing three assists while logging 34 penalty minutes.
He joins the Bulldogs after a stint at Mount St. Charles Academy in Rhode Island during the 2024‑25 campaign and is now eligible for the upcoming NHL Draft, a milestone that aligns with his commitment to the University of Notre Dame beginning in the fall of 2027.
OHL Trade Window and Upcoming Selection
The OHL trade window opened on June 2 and will remain active until June 11 at 3:00 p.m., providing teams with a narrow window to finalize deals. The 2026 OHL Priority Selection is scheduled for June 12‑13 at Slush Puppie Place in Kingston, Ontario, where Round 1 will commence at 7:00 p.m. on the first day and Rounds 2‑15 will follow on June 13 starting at 9:00 a.m. Tickets for the event are currently on sale.
Brantford’s acquisition of Komadoski reflects a broader strategy to bolster defensive depth while capitalizing on the developmental pathway offered by the OHL, positioning the club for a competitive showing in the upcoming draft and beyond.
