Home field advantage
Oklahoma State University’s 2026 men’s soccer team will enjoy a massive home presence at Neal Patterson Stadium, where 14 of its 18 scheduled matches will be played. The figure includes a preseason exhibition against Tulsa on August 6, setting the stage for a highly anticipated opening.
The regular season kicks off with a showdown against Sam Houston on August 12, followed four days later by a contest with Stephen F. Austin. A marquee Bedlam rivalry game against in‑state rivals Oklahoma is slated for August 20, promising a packed crowd and an early test of conference readiness.
A packed home slate
Beyond the early rivalry, the Cowboys will host a diverse array of opponents, ranging from Grambling State and San Diego State to Southeast Missouri State and Central Arkansas. The home schedule also features six Big 12 foes, beginning with a September 17 matchup against TCU, and later contests versus Arizona, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Utah and West Virginia.
Coach Colin Carmichael has emphasized the importance of leveraging the familiar confines of Stillwater to build momentum, noting that the stadium’s atmosphere will be a key factor in the team’s early season performance.
Road tests and rivalry clashes
While the home side enjoys a heavy load, the Cowboys will also hit the road for crucial tests. Their lone non‑conference away game takes them to Mississippi State in August, and later they will travel to Baylor, Houston, UCF, Iowa State and finally Colorado in early November, where the altitude and climate present distinct challenges.
Conference play begins in earnest with a September 24 trip to Baylor, and the schedule will continue with a series of away fixtures against Houston, UCF and Iowa State before the regular season wraps up on November 5 at Colorado.
Postseason aspirations
The Big 12 Tournament is set for November 9‑14, though the specific venue remains to be confirmed. Following the conference championship, the NCAA Championship pathway opens on November 20, culminating in the College Cup in Cary, North Carolina, on December 11 and 14. The road to the national stage will require navigating a demanding slate of matches, but the Cowboys’ balanced home‑and‑away approach provides a solid foundation for postseason contention.
