Quincy University has released its 2026 football schedule, a slate that guarantees six home contests and a full complement of conference battles. The campaign opens on August 27 with a road test at Concordia‑St. Paul in St. Paul, Minnesota, before the Hawks return to their own field for the first home game against Roosevelt on September 5.
A Coach Ready to Build on Momentum
Head coach Jason Killday, now in his third year, is eager to capitalize on the momentum generated by two consecutive 6‑5 seasons. He believes the blend of experienced seniors and emerging talent positions the program to compete fiercely in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Among the returning standouts, sophomore quarterback Bradyn Little stands out after earning GLVC Freshman of the Year honors last season. Little posted a completion rate that placed him fourth in the conference and amassed impressive passing yards, establishing himself as a central figure in the offense.
Senior linebacker Brock Wiley adds a defensive anchor, having recorded more than 100 tackles in the previous campaign — one of only two players in the GLVC to reach that milestone. His presence is expected to shore up a unit that aims to tighten up against the league’s high‑scoring opponents.
Conference Battles and Notable Opponents
The Hawks will face eight GLVC rivals, including a rematch with William Jewell, a series that Quincy has dominated at 9‑4 since 2012. A recurring duel with Lincoln University, now standing at six straight wins for the Hawks, adds another layer of tradition. Meanwhile, the team travels to take on Indianapolis, a program that has captured four straight conference titles in recent years.
Other non‑conference fixtures include a homecoming showdown with McKendree, a game that went against Quincy last season, and a contest against Upper Iowa, which dealt the Hawks a 41‑8 defeat the previous year. The schedule also features a narrow victory over Missouri S&T, where Quincy edged the opponents 31‑30 at home.
The non‑conference slate also includes a matchup against Roosevelt, a team that finished the prior season winless in conference play, offering the Hawks an early opportunity to build confidence. Additional games against Wayne State and Southwest Baptist round out a demanding but promising schedule.
With a blend of seasoned leaders and promising underclassmen, Quincy’s 2026 football season promises to be a test of resilience and growth. Fans can look forward to a series of competitive matchups that will shape the trajectory of the program heading into the next chapter.
