A Milestone for HBCU Football
The Southwestern Athletic Conference unveiled its 2026 football schedule, promising a full slate of 50 live‑streamed contests that will be available to fans at no cost on the league’s digital platform, SWAC TV.
Kicking off on August 29, the opening weekend features four games that blend non‑conference rivalries with classic HBCU showdowns, including a much‑anticipated matchup between Arkansas‑Pine Bluff and its longtime opponent.
Among the early highlights are a September 12 clash where Tennessee State travels to Alabama A&M, and a October 17 showdown that pits Southern against Texas Southern, two of the conference’s perennial powerhouses.
Homecoming traditions take center stage as the schedule highlights games such as Virginia Lynchburg visiting Bethune‑Cookman and Arkansas‑Pine Bluff hosting Southern, giving alumni bands and campus communities a chance to celebrate on the field.
As the season progresses, key November contests will determine which teams earn berths in the SWAC Championship Game, adding a decisive edge to the final stretch of play.
The regular season wraps up on Thanksgiving Day with Alabama State hosting Tuskegee in Montgomery, a historic rivalry that caps the year’s slate.
All 50 games will stream live on SWAC TV, which is accessible through Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Google Play and directly via the SWAC TV website, ensuring free entry for viewers across multiple devices.
