The 2026 All-Star Squad
The Telegram & Gazette’s 2026 Hometeam boys' basketball All-Star team brings together the most electrifying talents from across Central Massachusetts, a roster that reflects a season of relentless competition and community pride.
From the hardwood of David Prouty to the storied courts of Shrewsbury High, each selected athlete has not only posted impressive statistics but also demonstrated leadership that transcends the scoreboard.
At the center of this year’s narrative is Jayden Rubio of David Prouty High, who has been crowned Player of the Year after averaging 26.8 points per game and joining the exclusive 1,000-point club, a milestone that underscores his sustained excellence.
Hezaki Brown from Doherty High has also made headlines, not only for his 18.5-point average but for shattering a school record with ten three-pointers in a single game, a feat that has sparked excitement among teammates and rivals alike.
Sheron Brown Jr. of Shrewsbury High, another standout, will continue his basketball journey at Rivier University, bringing a 17.7-point average and a reputation for clutch performances to the next level.
Other notable names include Jimmer Donnelly of Millbury High, who compiled 15 points, 7 assists and 3 steals per game before heading to Pomfret School, and Jackson Fournier from St. John’s High, whose 18-point, 8-rebound, 3-assist line earned him a commitment to the University of Maryland for baseball, illustrating a rare dual-sport ambition.
Camden Gamache of Gardner High, who will study sports management at Keene State, posted a balanced 18.2 points, 6.1 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 4 steals per game, while Jaiden Johnston from Burncoat High dreams of turning professional after posting a 24.4-point average.
Maxim Kauffman of Narragansett Regional, another sports-management aspirant, contributed 23.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4.4 steals per game, and Larry Lamar Jr. of Grafton High became the school’s all-time leading scorer with 19.9 points per game in the Mid-Wach A.
The list also features Dylan Poirier of Algonquin Regional, headed to Boston University to study biology, and Garnett Torres of South High, who capped his senior season with 42 three-pointers and a 22.4-point average.
Together, these athletes illustrate a vibrant pipeline of talent that blends athletic prowess with academic ambition, promising to leave a lasting imprint on the region’s basketball legacy.
