Dwayne "DJ" Stephens is set to join the Penn State Nittany Lions basketball staff, bringing a wealth of coaching experience and a reputation as one of the most effective recruiters in college basketball.
Stephens spent four seasons at Western Michigan, where he guided the Broncos to back‑to‑back appearances in the Mid‑American Conference tournament and earned recognition for his teams’ academic performance.
During his tenure at Michigan State, he helped land future NBA standouts such as Draymond Green and Jaren Jackson Jr., and also recruited Dwyane Wade while at Marquette, showcasing his ability to spot talent that translates to the professional level.
A 1993 graduate of Michigan State, Stephens captured a Big Ten championship as a freshman and later played under legendary coach Tom Izzo, experiences that have shaped his basketball philosophy.
