Mia Del Rosso has been appointed as an assistant coach for the Robert Morris University women's hockey team for the 2026‑27 season, bringing a blend of playing pedigree and coaching experience to the program.
Del Rosso spent five years at Trinity College, where she focused on player development and special teams, and she previously helped Amherst College capture a NESCAC championship during the 2019‑20 season as a student‑athlete.
Her coaching résumé also includes a stint with the Chinese Ice Hockey Association’s women’s national development program, where she trained ahead of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, and she has international playing experience with KRS‑Vanke Rays under coaches Bob Deraney and Brian Idalski.
Coach Bittle’s Praise
Head coach Logan Bittle expressed enthusiasm about the addition, highlighting Del Rosso’s deep knowledge of the game and her personal qualities that he believes will strengthen the squad.
The Colonials are set to begin AHA competition in October with a two‑game series against Penn State, marking the start of a schedule that promises fresh challenges and opportunities for growth.
Del Rosso’s hiring reflects Robert Morris’s commitment to assembling a competitive staff that can guide the team through its inaugural years in the Atlantic Hockey Association.
