The Oklahoma State women's soccer program released its 2026 schedule on Wednesday, confirming an exhibition match on August 6 before the regular season begins on August 12 with a home game against Sam Houston.
Rebuilding with Purpose
The 2025 season was a stark contrast to previous years, delivering the program's fewest victories since 2000 and exposing a defense that surrendered 36 goals — the highest total in the Big 12 conference.
Offensively, the team managed only 20 goals, tying them for third‑lowest among conference schools, and endured six defeats by a single goal, highlighting how tightly contested each match had been.
Roster turnover has been extensive; only two players who scored multiple goals in 2025, Sonora Defini and Reganne Morris, remain, while head coach Colin Carmichael will oversee a largely new lineup.
The upcoming slate will take the Cowgirls on a cross‑country journey, with conference road trips scheduled in Texas, Mississippi, California, Arizona, Utah, West Virginia, Iowa and Colorado, providing a rigorous early‑season test.
Despite the challenges, the coaching staff remains optimistic that the blend of experienced returnees and fresh talent will lay the groundwork for a competitive resurgence in the coming months.
