The University of Minnesota women's soccer program unveiled its 2026 campaign this week, releasing a slate that blends challenging non‑conference road trips with a full Big Ten home schedule.
A rigorous non‑conference agenda
The schedule pits the Gophers against squads from three Power conferences, including a showdown with the defending Big Ten Tournament champions Washington, and ten teams that earned NCAA Tournament berths last season.
The season will open with two exhibition matches against Iowa State and South Dakota State, giving the coaching staff a chance to fine‑tune tactics before the first official contest.
Regular‑season play begins at home against North Dakota and Georgia, while the Gophers will also host a series of conference opponents such as Iowa, Northwestern, Maryland, Ohio State, and Oregon.
On the road, Minnesota travels to face Penn State, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Illinois, rounding out a demanding conference schedule.
Looking ahead
All dates and times remain subject to change, but the announced lineup provides a clear picture of the competitive landscape the team will navigate next year. Head coach Erin Chastain said the non‑conference opponents were selected to prepare the squad for the rigors of Big Ten play.
