Andrew Parmenter, a 2016 alumnus of Peoria Christian, has been appointed head coach of the school's boys basketball program. He spent the past four seasons as an assistant under longtime coach Jason Persinger, gaining intimate knowledge of the program's culture and expectations.
A Legacy of Success
Persinger departs after a distinguished eight‑year tenure that produced 175 victories and six regional championships. Under his guidance the team captured both the Inter‑County Athletic Conference regular‑season and tournament titles, compiling a 49‑win stretch over the last two seasons.
Parmenter inherits a roster that has already tasted success and is eager to build on that foundation. He plans to weave together the philosophies of Persinger, as well as former coaches Fred Fox and Jay Bruer, who also shaped his development as a player and mentor.
The new coach emphasized a holistic approach, stating that every facet of the game — from on‑court execution to classroom discipline — will receive focused attention. Summer leagues and camps will serve as crucibles for experimentation and cohesion before the official season begins.
