Colorado Buffaloes Secure Commitment from Irish Midfielder Hannah Healy

The incoming freshman brings a decorated youth career and plans to study business in Boulder

Colorado Buffaloes women's soccer announced the signing of Hannah Healy, a 5‑8 midfielder from Clontarf, Dublin, who will arrive on campus this fall. The recruit adds a blend of technical skill, competitive fire, and international exposure to a program that continues to climb in the national rankings.

Healy spent the past two seasons with Bohemian Women's FC, competing in the League of Ireland Women's Premier Division. During that time she helped the club capture back‑to‑back Under‑17 League of Ireland championships in 2022 and 2023, as well as two FAI Cup titles in the same years. She also contributed to a Women's Under‑19 FAI Cup victory in 2024.

Her impact extended to the international stage, where she represented Ireland at every youth level from U15 through U19. As captain of the U15 side she earned the Ireland U15 Player of the Year honor and was named Player of the Tournament at the Bob Docherty Cup. She also lifted the Women's Under‑19 FAI Cup in 2024 and qualified for the 2024 UEFA European Finals.

A Strategic Recruit for the Buffs

Beyond her athletic résumé, Healy will pursue a degree in business at the University of Colorado. She cited the program's competitive soccer environment, the expertise of the coaching staff, and the academic reputation of the university as key factors in her decision. The Boulder community, with its vibrant lifestyle and supportive atmosphere, further sealed her choice.

Coach Danny Sanchez, who has been instrumental in scouting Healy, expressed enthusiasm about the addition: "Hannah brings a winning mentality and a depth of experience that will elevate our midfield. Her leadership on the field and commitment to academics align perfectly with the values we uphold at Colorado."
