Tevin Baskin has been named the new associate head coach of the Saint Michael’s College men’s basketball team, a move that reunites him with the program where he previously served during the 2020‑21 season. The appointment marks a strategic return for a coach whose career has spanned the NBA G League, Division I, Division II and Division III.
A Fresh Direction for the Purple Knights
Baskin succeeds Evan Conti, who departed for Division I Stonehill College. The transition comes as the program looks to build on recent momentum and reinforce a culture of player growth. Baskin’s résumé includes stints as a graduate assistant at Mississippi State, an assistant at Bridgewater College and a director of scouting and analytics for the Bulldogs, as well as a three‑year run with the Long Island Nets where he helped the franchise set a record for NBA call‑ups.
His coaching journey began in earnest at Quinnipiac University, where he worked under Eric Eaton, and continued at Appalachian State before a formative period at Northwest Florida State College. Over the years he has cultivated a reputation for crafting individualized development plans for prospects such as Jaylen Martin, Trey McGowens and Patrick Gardner, and for mentoring players who have progressed to professional leagues.
Baskin’s impact is evident in the classroom and on the court. At Chipola College he helped guide the team to a 23‑7 record and a NJCAA Tournament berth, while at Mississippi State he contributed to a staff that earned a franchise‑record seven NBA call‑ups in a single season. His recent role at Lincoln University further honed his ability to lead recruiting efforts and shape player development strategies.
Beyond the X’s and O’s, Baskin expressed enthusiasm for mentoring student‑athletes and contributing to the broader success of the program.
