A Strategic Addition to the Saints' Coaching Staff
Siena Women's Basketball is set to welcome Chad Smith to its coaching roster for the upcoming 2026‑27 season, a move that underscores the program’s commitment to competitive growth and sustained excellence.
Smith arrives with nearly two decades of experience across Division I programs, having contributed to the strategic development of teams at St. Bonaventure University, Bard College and the University of Evansville.
During his tenure at St. Bonaventure, he managed logistics, travel and day‑to‑day operations, while at Bard College he focused on player development, recruiting coordination and culture‑building initiatives.
His stint as Video Coordinator and Graduate Manager at Evansville sharpened his analytical skills, overseeing opponent scouting, performance analysis and digital content creation.
Beyond the court, Smith’s decade of service as an Infantry Sergeant in the United States Army instilled a disciplined work ethic that he now brings to collegiate athletics.
Expressing enthusiasm for the new role, Smith said he looks forward to investing in student‑athletes and helping the Saints build a championship culture.
Athletic director Terry Primm praised the hire, noting Smith’s blend of tactical acumen and leadership will strengthen the program’s recruiting pipeline and overall operations.
