Top Colorado QB Marquise Reese Commits to Colorado State Rams

Reese's record-breaking junior season culminates in a pledge to the Rams, alongside safety Ashton Jones.

Marquise Reese, the premier passer in Colorado's largest classification, announced his commitment to Colorado State on June 3, sealing a deal that caps a standout junior season and signals a major recruiting win for the Rams.

Reese's statistical dominance was evident throughout the year. He completed 65 percent of his throws for 3,314 yards, 44 touchdowns and only eight interceptions, while also adding 464 rushing yards and five scores on the ground.

What sets Reese apart is the margin by which he outpaced his peers. He finished 300 yards ahead of the second-ranked passer in Class 5A and his 44 passing touchdowns topped every player in the state, regardless of classification.

The quarterback's recruitment profile reflects both promise and potential. Rated as a three-star prospect by On3 Sports, Reese held offers from Fresno State, Wyoming, North Dakota State, South Dakota and Rhode Island before choosing the Rams.

Joining Reese in the class of 2026 is safety Ashton Jones, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound defender from Bentonville West High School in Arkansas. Jones recorded 96 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and three kickoff return touchdowns as a junior, earning the No. 2 ranking among defensive backs in the state.

Jones said his decision came down to a fit with the program and the opportunity to contribute early. He turned down interest from Texas State, North Texas, Arkansas State, Missouri State, Middle Tennessee and several other schools, opting instead for the Rams.
