Former professional basketball player Caterrion Thompson is set to host a groundbreaking girls basketball camp in Lima on June 16 and 17, marking the first event of its kind in the city.
The camp welcomes participants from grades three through eleven, offering a curriculum that blends on‑court drills with sessions designed to foster confidence, discipline and leadership.
Thompson, a Lima Senior High School athletic hall of fame inductee, brings a distinguished playing pedigree that includes stints at Bowling Green State University, Mississippi State, and professional leagues in Bolivia, Finland, the United Kingdom, Kosovo, Turkey and Greece.
Empowering the Next Generation
Thompson says the camp is about more than just basketball; it is about giving young women the tools to excel on and off the court, creating a supportive network where they can compete and learn from one another.
Local students from Lima City Schools will pay $60 to attend, while participants from outside the district will be charged $80, a pricing structure meant to keep the experience accessible while covering operational costs.
