Community Vote Highlights Local Talent
The State newspaper is inviting its readers to help decide the Midlands high school girls and boys soccer players of the year, a fun community poll that will run until the final seconds of Wednesday, June 10 at 11:59 p.m.
The winners will be revealed the following day, on Thursday, June 11, giving the region a chance to celebrate the talent that has shaped the season and to recognize the hard work of these young athletes.
Among the nominees are standout athletes such as Kennedy Bagley of AC Flora, who posted 177 saves with a 90% save percentage, and Lila Bowers from Chapin, who contributed 26 goals and eight assists. Victoria Coleman of Gray Collegiate has also impressed with 35 goals and 11 assists, while Adriana Dunat of Lexington adds 25 goals and 11 assists to the mix.
Other notable mentions include Claire Kaminski from Cardinal Newman, Brooke Ogorek of River Bluff, Avery Stoner from Chapin, Tanner Battafrano of Cardinal Newman, Jason Gonzalez from Gray Collegiate, Cullen Maas of AC Flora, Matthew Pinasco from Hammond, Dalton Purcell at Blythewood, and Jalen Tucker of Chapin, each bringing impressive statistics and contributions to their teams.
The poll is not meant to be a scientific ranking but rather a celebration of the hard work and achievements of these young players, encouraging fans to engage with the sport and support their local schools.
