Richmond High School Baseball Advances to Regional Final
The Richmond Oilers erupted in a five‑run third inning to turn a 0‑0 tie into a 7‑0 victory over Goodrich in the MHSAA Division 2 regional semifinal, securing a spot in the championship game at Sanborn Park in Port Huron.

Dominic Bonnetti ignited the rally with an RBI single that broke the scoreless deadlock, followed by Jaxon Distelrath’s double that drove Bonnetti home. Joey Joudi’s bases‑loaded walk added another run, while John Swamba’s bunt single scored yet another, and Cam Sutherland capped the burst by crossing home on a fielder’s choice.
Starting pitcher Cameron Murray delivered a strong outing, limiting Goodrich to zero runs and providing a steady presence on the mound.
Coach Scott Evans acknowledged early miscues but praised his team’s focus and execution during the pivotal third inning, highlighting the squad’s resilience.
The regional final is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, at Sanborn Park, where Richmond will meet the winner of the opposite semifinal.
