Accountability on the Ice
Jared McCann, a veteran forward for the Seattle Kraken and the franchise’s all‑time leader in goals and points, has become one of the most vocal voices about the team’s recent struggles.
In a recent interview, McCann said the club’s inconsistency this season appears to stem from a lack of commitment among some of the younger players, many of whom are still learning the intensity required at the NHL level.
He pointed out that the Kraken currently have nine athletes aged 24 or younger on their roster, a group that must begin to translate potential into production if the team hopes to remain competitive.
According to McCann, the solution lies in setting higher standards within the locker room and on the bench, with leadership and coaching staff holding every player accountable for their night‑to‑night performance.
As the veteran core continues to age, the pressure on the emerging talent will only intensify, making it essential for the younger group to step up and deliver their best night after night.
