The College of Idaho revealed this week that four of its baseball players have been selected for the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, a distinction that highlights both scholarly achievement and athletic prowess.
Among the honorees are senior Jackson Cummins and sophomore Jakob Cummins, alumni of Kimberly High School, and redshirt junior Bryce Mahlke, a graduate of Twin Falls High School. All three hail from Idaho’s Magic Valley region, underscoring the area’s growing talent pool.
Awards Celebrate Balanced Excellence
To qualify, each student-athlete must have participated in at least 90% of their team’s games or start in at least 66% of contests, with pitchers required to appear in a minimum of 17 games or pitch 35 innings. The honorees meet these benchmarks while maintaining strong academic standing.
The recognition reflects the College of Idaho’s commitment to developing well-rounded competitors who excel in the classroom as well as on the diamond. Officials from College Sports Communicators praised the students for meeting the organization’s rigorous standards.
