A Legendary Career Honored
Sedrick Shaw, who dominated Iowa’s rushing attack from 1993 to 1996, will be celebrated this September as the university announces his induction into the Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame.
During his collegiate career he amassed 4,156 rushing yards, a record that still stands, and tied the school’s all‑time mark with 33 career rushing touchdowns, a feat he shares with Tavian Banks.
He will be joined in the 2026 class by six other former Hawkeyes, including Kim Baker‑El Abiad, Klas Bergstrom, Diane DeMiro Simmons, Amy Herrig Tanny, Matt McDonough and Janet Moylan Ritter, each of whom left a distinct mark on Iowa sports.
The ceremony is scheduled for September 4, 2026, at Carver‑Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the induction beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $25, making the event accessible to fans eager to honor these legends.
