Ole Miss baseball has secured a spot in the NCAA Tournament super regionals, marking the ninth occasion under head coach Mike Bianco that the Rebels have reached this pivotal stage of the competition.
Incentives Built Into the Contract
Bianco will receive a $15,000 bonus for coaching the Rebels to a road super regional appearance, a figure outlined in his current agreement. The contract also details a suite of financial incentives that can substantially increase his earnings.
He can earn up to $90,000 annually in SEC incentives, including $25,000 for capturing either the SEC regular‑season title or the SEC tournament championship, and another $25,000 if he is named SEC Coach of the Year.
A Road to the College World Series
The Rebels will travel to face No. 4 seed Auburn in a best‑of‑three series at Plainsman Park, with the winner advancing to the College World Series. The stakes are heightened by the potential for additional postseason bonuses.
Bianco’s contract caps postseason incentives at $500,000 per year, featuring $15,000 for an away NCAA Super Regional appearance, $25,000 for a home Super Regional, and up to $400,000 for a College World Series championship.
Career Milestones and Long‑Term Security
The agreement includes $250,000 milestones for reaching 1,000, 1,100, or 1,200 career wins at Ole Miss, as well as a $250,000 bonus for becoming the SEC’s winningest coach. Signed in 2022, the six‑year deal guarantees Bianco a salary of $1.625 million annually through the 2028 season, linking his financial future directly to both team performance and personal achievement.
