On May 24, the Charlotte Baseball Academy hosted its annual Scout Day at Palisades High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, drawing a crowd of position players eager to catch the eye of scouts.
Organized by Prep Baseball NC, the event aimed to showcase talent and help athletes advance toward collegiate and professional opportunities.

Position players worked through defensive drills, batting practice, a laser‑timed 60‑yard dash, and pitchers threw controlled bullpens, providing a comprehensive snapshot of each participant’s abilities.
John Hucko from Charlotte Catholic recorded the fastest 60‑yard dash at 6.49 seconds, while Whitton Butler of High Point Christian Academy posted the highest max exit velocity of 108.4 mph and the longest batted distance at 430 feet.
Garrison Copeland of Trinity Collegiate and Davian Hurst from Mountain View Prep shared the quickest 10‑yard split at 1.58 seconds, and Owen Harris of Holly Springs led the field with a 90 % sweet‑spot percentage.
The day also highlighted other metrics, such as average exit velocity and sweet‑spot consistency, with several players turning in strong numbers that underscored the depth of talent on display.
