Arnold Mugerwa, a 6‑foot‑3 wide receiver from Pennsylvania, has pledged to join Rutgers Football’s 2027 recruiting class, becoming the latest addition to a cohort that is already drawing attention for its depth and talent.
A Prospect of Notable Size and Skill
At Richland High School he measured 6‑foot‑3 and 197 pounds, and last season recorded 54 receptions for 1,020 yards and 11 touchdowns. On defense he added 36 tackles and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
Mugerwa’s campus visit in April left a strong impression, especially on Coach Dave Brock, whose emphasis on player development resonated with the recruit.
The prospect turned down offers from a dozen Power Five programs, including Duke, Florida State, Maryland, Michigan State, NC State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, and elected to commit to the Scarlet Knights.
National Rankings and Regional Impact
Ranked as the No. 71 wide receiver nationally and the 17th best prospect in Pennsylvania, his commitment highlights Rutgers’ growing appeal in the Northeast recruiting market and adds another high‑profile talent to the 2027 class.
