Colorado Buffaloes head coach Tad Boyle has sealed the 2026‑27 roster by securing the commitment of Eric Jacobsen, a 6‑foot‑11 forward out of Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. The pledge not only fills the final spot on the scholarship list but also pushes the team to the NCAA’s maximum of 15 scholarship players.
The new faces set to shape Colorado’s campaign
Jacobsen’s decision follows a whirlwind recruitment cycle that included official visits to the Boulder campus, as well as offers from New Mexico, UAB and the University of New Hampshire. The 6‑foot‑11 prospect also boasts a familial connection to the sport: his brother Daniel Jacobsen is a 7‑foot‑4 center on Purdue’s roster.
The road to this commitment hasn't been smooth. Jacobsen battled a torn ACL during his junior year, missing the bulk of that season before being cleared to play in early January of the following year. At La Cueva High School in New Mexico, he posted averages of 10.0 points and 8.4 rebounds over 32 games as a sophomore, showcasing the blend of size and skill that attracted multiple suitors.
The Buffaloes’ incoming class will feature seven freshmen, among them Goc Malual and Alex Dickeson from Australia, Chase Hill from San Antonio, and Amir Jones, a 6‑3 combo guard from Harvard‑Westlake High School in California who was previously committed to Georgia State. Jones, who averaged 12 points, five rebounds and four assists in his senior season, joins the program as part of a group that also includes Luke Mirhashemi, a walk‑on from Newport Beach, California.
Beyond the freshmen, Colorado has added three transfers this offseason: Noah Feddersen from North Dakota State, David Gomez from Charlotte and Justin Neely from UNC Greensboro. The roster will be anchored by four returning scholarship players — Barrington Hargress, Jalin Holland, Ian Inman and Josiah Sanders — while walk‑on Nick Randall is also set to return.
Although the university has not yet officially announced the additions of Jacobsen, Jones and Mirhashemi, the coaching staff is optimistic that the new talent will help the Buffaloes mount a competitive run in the upcoming season.
