West Texas A&M announced the signing of Ciara Harris, a standout guard who will wear the Lady Buffs' jersey for the 2026‑27 season after transferring from UNC Greensboro. The move bolsters a roster that is looking to build on recent progress in the Lone Star Conference.
A Strategic Addition for the Lady Buffs
Coach Josh Prock praised Harris's physical presence and her ability to impact the game on multiple ends of the floor. "She brings a rare blend of strength, defensive versatility, and shooting accuracy that fits perfectly with our vision," Prock said in the official announcement.
During her lone season with the Spartans, Harris logged 3.9 points per game while also contributing 69 rebounds, 24 assists, five blocks and 33 steals across 25 appearances. Her defensive numbers were complemented by a career‑high 30‑point outing against Midwestern State, the first 30‑point performance by an Eagle in the Division II era.
Before college, Harris excelled at McKinney North High School in Texas, where she served as a four‑year varsity starter and team captain. She earned TABC All‑State honors, was named to the National Honor Society, and graduated with a plan to major in Communications at West Texas A&M.
Harris arrives with a family background that includes parents Cameron and Kristi and three siblings, giving her a supportive network as she transitions to Canyon, Texas. Her addition is expected to deepen the Lady Buffs' backcourt and provide a new defensive anchor for the upcoming season.
