Rob Glass, the longtime strength architect of Oklahoma State’s football program, has been selected as the 2026 recipient of the Merv Johnson Integrity in College Coaching Award.
Having spent three decades at the Stillwater campus, Glass transformed the university’s athlete‑performance department before stepping into the role of assistant athletic director, a move that underscored his influence beyond the weight room.
His commitment to community service spans a quarter‑century of involvement with the Special Olympics Oklahoma Summer Games, where he has helped thousands of athletes experience competition and camaraderie.
A Hall of Fame Contender Emerges
Russell Okung, a former Oklahoma State offensive lineman who anchored the line from 2006 to 2009, now appears on the ballot for the 2027 College Football Hall of Fame class.
During his senior season he earned unanimous All‑American honors, captured the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year award and the Jim Parker Trophy, and later entered the NFL where he spent 11 seasons, earned two Pro Bowl selections and secured a Super Bowl ring with the Seattle Seahawks in 2014.
The recognition reflects not only his on‑field dominance but also his lasting impact on the sport’s culture, positioning him as a bridge between collegiate excellence and professional achievement.
Both honorees will be celebrated at upcoming ceremonies that highlight the intertwined legacies of coaching excellence and player achievement within the Big 12 and beyond.
