Alabama’s men’s basketball program is set for a major overhaul as it welcomes seven newcomers to the 2026‑27 roster, a mix of three freshmen and four transfers. The additions are expected to deepen the frontcourt and inject new athleticism into the Crimson Tide’s lineup.
A Fresh Batch of Talent
Head coach Nate Oats praised the group, noting that each player brings a distinct skill set and strong personal character that aligns with the program’s culture.
Among the newcomers, Tarris Bouie, a 6‑foot‑6 forward from Charlotte, brings versatility and scoring punch, while Cole Cloer, a 6‑foot‑8 forward transferring from N.C. State, is known for his basketball IQ and shooting touch. Jamarion Davis‑Fleming, a 6‑foot‑10 forward from Mississippi State, adds size and physical tools, and Drew Fielder, a 6‑foot‑11 transfer from Boise State, is celebrated for his work ethic and shot‑making.
Brandon Garrison, a 6‑foot‑10 forward from Oklahoma City who previously played at Kentucky, is expected to contribute size and potential, and guards Jaxon Richardson from Miami and Qayden Samuels from Forestville, Maryland, round out the class with elite athleticism and scoring ability.
The coaching staff believes the blend of size, skill and hustle will not only bolster the team’s interior play but also create depth that can sustain a competitive edge throughout the season.
