Over the Memorial Day weekend the Summit Strikers soccer club traveled to Arvada, Colorado, to take part in the Stenger Tournament, a regional showcase that gathered twelve teams from across the state.
The event proved highly competitive, with seven squads advancing to the finals and six of the Strikers' own sides emerging as division champions, while one finished as runners‑up overall.
Division Winners and Memorable Comebacks
The boys U11 team displayed remarkable resilience, erasing a 1‑2 deficit by scoring four unanswered goals in the second half to clinch their division title.
The girls U11 squad captured their first ever tournament championship, preserving a clean sheet with a 1‑0 victory that underscored their defensive discipline.
Other divisional triumphs included the 2014‑born boys, who edged Colorado United 3‑2, and the 2012 cohort, who secured a 2‑1 win after an unbeaten pre‑championship pool run.
The girls U13 team also impressed, defeating Colorado Edge 2‑0, while the U17 boys posted a 4‑1 triumph over Colorado Rapids North, highlighting the breadth of talent across age groups.
Beyond the scoreboard, the club emphasized its dual focus on soccer skill development and character building, a philosophy that resonates with its expanding roster and community outreach.
