Rob DePersia Named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Rowan University

Former standout player returns to lead the program after a 10‑17 season, aiming to rebuild and compete at the highest level

A New Era for Rowan Basketball

Rob DePersia, a 2019 alumnus and former four‑year starter for the Profs, has been appointed the 14th head coach of Rowan's men's basketball program. His appointment marks a homecoming for a player who amassed over 1,000 points, held the all‑time record for three‑pointers, and served as team captain for three seasons.

DePersia's coaching journey has taken him from Villanova, where he worked under Jay Wright, to Fordham as video coordinator under Kyle Neptune, and most recently to the University of New Haven, where he served as lead assistant focusing on recruiting, scouting, and player development.

During the 2025‑26 season the team posted a 10‑17 record with a 9‑9 conference slate, winning six of its final ten games, including a victory in the NJAC First Round. DePersia now aims to build on that momentum, emphasizing a competitive schedule and a culture that honors Rowan's traditions.

In his introductory remarks, DePersia expressed a commitment to representing the university with pride, stating that he will prioritize recruiting, scouting, and player development to elevate the program to the highest level of competition.
