Coach Oats emphasized that the newcomers bring a mix of skill sets and character that should reinforce the team’s frontcourt and overall athleticism. The freshmen arrive with strong regional credentials, while the transfers bring proven production from previous collegiate stops.
Among the freshmen, Tarris Bouie arrives as a four‑star recruit and the top Ohio prospect per ESPN, while Jaxon Richardson earned McDonald’s All‑American honors and is rated the fourth‑star recruit of his class. Qayden Samuels, also a four‑star prospect, is the second‑ranked Maryland recruit according to 247Sports.
The transfer group features Cole Cloer, a consensus four‑star recruit previously ranked No. 25 overall by ESPN, Jamarion Davis‑Fleming, the premier Mississippi prospect and two‑time Mr. Basketball honoree, Drew Fielder, who averaged 14.7 points and 5.7 rebounds for Boise State last season, and Brandon Garrison, who contributed 7.5 points and 5.3 rebounds while at Oklahoma State.
