The Mississippi Coast Coliseum announced that professional hockey operations will be paused after the Biloxi Breakers franchise officially ceased activities. The decision was driven by the franchise's inability to continue, but the venue emphasized that its ice programming will not be interrupted.
Executive Director Sam Voisin took the opportunity to thank ownership, players, coaches, staff, sponsors, and fans for their dedication to the team and the sport. His remarks underscored the deep appreciation for the community that has supported hockey at the facility for years.
A Continued Commitment to Ice Entertainment
Popular productions such as Disney on Ice will continue to fill the schedule, alongside regular public skating sessions and special events. These activities remain a cornerstone of the Coliseum’s calendar, drawing families and enthusiasts from across the region.
The venue also reaffirmed its ongoing relationship with local youth hockey organizations and adult pick‑up hockey groups. Rental opportunities will persist, allowing these groups to use the ice surface for practices, games and community tournaments.
Looking ahead, the Coliseum plans to evaluate future opportunities related to hockey and other ice‑based programming as demand dictates. This forward‑looking approach ensures that the facility remains a vibrant hub for skating, entertainment and community sport.
