The Lane Community College Titans baseball squad captured second place at the Northwest Athletic Conference Championships, marking the program’s highest postseason finish since its 2004 championship.
The team earned its spot in the championship game after placing second in the Southern Region and hosting the Super Regionals on the LCC campus, where the atmosphere amplified their momentum.
Athletics director Greg Sheley credited the turnaround to sustained investments in student‑athletes and the recent addition of a state‑of‑the‑art turf baseball field, which together created a more competitive environment.
Sheley noted that the new facility not only improved player development but also signaled the college’s commitment to elevating the entire athletics program.
The achievement underscores a resurgence for LCC baseball, a program that last celebrated a national title two decades ago, and sets a promising foundation for future seasons.
