A Family's Baseball Journey
The Donaldson brothers, Charlie and Coleton, discovered their love for baseball long before stepping onto a formal field, tossing a ball around in their Texas backyard and dreaming of the day they would play together on a bigger stage.
At Sam Houston, the siblings became integral parts of a program that captured back‑to‑back state championships. Coleton’s left‑handed pitching was on full display when he took the mound for the final three innings to seal the most recent victory.
From the dugout, Charlie voiced unwavering confidence in his brother’s ability to close out the game, a trust that reflects the deep bond they share both on and off the diamond.
Their mother, Kayla Donaldson, has watched the pair’s rivalry extend beyond baseball, from fishing trips to hunting outings, and she says she will miss seeing them compete side by side.
Looking ahead, Charlie will continue his academic and athletic career at Paris Junior College, while Coleton aims to help the Broncos chase a third consecutive title next season.
