Sammy Farnham burst onto the high school soccer scene in New Jersey, where she spent four seasons at Haddon Township and turned heads with a blend of skill and tenacity.
Early Roots in Haddon Township
During her senior year she capped a career that produced more than 30 goals and 40 assists with the Sectional Championship Offensive MVP, earning a place on the All‑State second team and the Conference Offensive MVP as a sophomore.
Her athletic versatility extended beyond the pitch; she also competed in basketball and track, showcasing the same drive that ran in her family.
Choosing a Faith‑Driven Path
Her father, Brian Farnham, wrestled at the University of Virginia, while her sister Sydney starred on the soccer field for Harvard University, creating a household steeped in competition and camaraderie.
Choosing a college was a deliberate decision. Farnham opted for Liberty University, citing its faith‑based environment as a perfect fit for her personal values.
At Liberty she will join a program that emphasizes community and gratitude, a theme she reinforces with pregame and postgame prayers that thank teammates and coaches.
Beyond the Game
When she isn’t training, she indulges in crafts, a hobby that lets her channel creativity off the field, and she shares her home with two bulldogs named Ivy and Rocco.
Her favorite meal is steak, and she proudly wears jersey number 24, a choice made simply because she liked the number.
Growing up, Alex Morgan of the USWNT was a role model, and Farnham’s most treasured possession remains her bed, where she relaxes after demanding days.
Her karaoke staple is Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats,” a song that captures her spirited personality, while her dream vacation spot is Cabo, Mexico, a destination she describes as pretty and relaxing.
She begins each day by checking a clock app to silence her alarm, a small ritual that marks the start of every new challenge.
