Two members of the Western Oregon University baseball team have been selected for the College Sports Communicators Academic All‑District Baseball squad, a distinction that highlights both athletic achievement and academic performance.
Academic All‑District honors celebrate scholarly and athletic excellence
To qualify, student‑athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 and be classified as sophomores or higher, having completed their second year at the institution.
Athletic participation requirements are equally strict: position players must have appeared in at least 90 % of their team’s games or started two‑thirds of those contests, while pitchers need to log a minimum of 17 appearances or pitch 35 innings.
Josh Johnson and Tyler Mohler, both standout players for the Wolves, meet these criteria and have been recognized for their dedication to both sport and study.
The honor underscores Western Oregon University’s commitment to developing well‑rounded athletes, and it places the program among institutions that consistently produce scholars who excel on the national stage.
