A youth hockey coach from Colorado Springs was arrested on Tuesday following a multi‑agency investigation that uncovered allegations of sexual assault and exploitation of minors.
Allegations and Legal Accusations
Rory Nathaniel Mushlin, 40, faces a slate of felony charges including sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, unlawful electronic sexual communication, obscenity, and internet sexual exploitation of a child. Prosecutors say the conduct spanned several months and involved multiple underage victims.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Mushlin had been employed as a coach at the South Suburban Sports Complex in Highlands Ranch since January 2023, where his teams practiced at the Parker Field House and the Family Sports Center in Arapahoe County.
Detention and Bond
Mushlin is currently being held at the Douglas County Detention Facility with a bond set at $75,000. Officials have indicated that the investigation is ongoing and that additional victims may still be unidentified.
