All-District Honors Celebrate Local Talent
The Michigan High School Athletic Association recently announced its All-District baseball selections, and Marquette Senior High School contributed three standout athletes to the list. Senior pitcher Alex Brennan, sophomore infielder Wesley Robinson, and sophomore outfielder Evan Brown each received recognition for their contributions during the district tournaments.
Brennan finished the regular season with a 6-1 record and a 0.88 ERA, establishing himself as a reliable ace on the mound. His performance helped anchor a pitching staff that kept opponents to low scores throughout the district play.
Robinson showcased his versatility at the plate and in the field, batting .405 while delivering 10 extra-base hits. He also maintained a .989 fielding percentage, underscoring his reliability at second base.
Brown contributed a .397 batting average, stole 21 bases, and posted a .984 fielding percentage in the outfield. His speed on the bases and steady defensive work added a dynamic element to the Marauders' lineup.
The team advanced to the district semifinals, where they edged Alpena 3-2, but the championship game saw a 11-1 defeat at the hands of TC Central. Despite the loss, the Marauders' season concluded with a strong showing and high expectations for the upcoming regional competition.
The regional final is scheduled to take place in Grand Rapids, where TC Central will meet Mattawan. Marquette's coaching staff and players are focusing on building on the momentum generated by their All-District honorees as they prepare for the next round of play.
