Mississippi State University is seeing an unprecedented early arrival of its 2026 football signing class, with almost every newcomer already on campus for the first summer session.
A deep and diverse roster
The 2026 signing class comprises 61 new players, including 34 from high schools and junior colleges and 27 who came through the NCAA transfer portal.
Head coach Jeff Lebby, in his third year at the helm, will open the season on September 5 against Louisiana‑Monroe, looking to build on last year’s bowl appearance.
Only one signee, defensive lineman Lorenz Cammon, is expected to join the program in July, while the remaining members are already enrolled and have taken part in spring practice.
The roster is now at capacity with 105 scholarship players, and the influx of transfers and two‑year athletes should add depth and competition for the upcoming fall.
Forty‑four of the signees enrolled in January and participated in spring drills, positioning the team to achieve bowl eligibility through on‑field wins without needing provisional waivers.
