The University of Tennessee announced its 2026‑27 women’s basketball out‑of‑conference slate, a seven‑game lineup that blends early‑season road tests with a handful of home‑court marquee matchups.
A packed non‑conference schedule
The schedule features seven confirmed contests, three of which already have set dates, and includes games against some of the nation’s most respected programs.
Tennessee will open the season on November 4 at Coppin State in Baltimore, Maryland, before traveling to Blacksburg, Virginia, for a December 3 showdown with Virginia Tech. The following week, on December 18, the Lady Vols will meet Baylor at a neutral venue in Nashville, Tennessee.
Power‑program matchups
The slate also includes an annual clash with the UConn Huskies, whose game is still awaiting a date, and a home game against UCLA in Knoxville. Additional contests are set against Belmont and Middle Tennessee State University, both slated for Nashville.
Virginia Tech will host two former Lady Vols players: senior Alyssa Latham, who spent two seasons at Tennessee, and sophomore Lauren Hurst, a one‑year transfer. Both are expected to be key contributors for the Hokies.
New roster, new era
Head Coach Kim Caldwell, now in her third year, has assembled a 15‑player roster that blends returning veterans with fresh talent. The team will also compete in its traditional SEC schedule, aiming to build on the momentum of recent seasons.
Fans can look forward to a blend of competitive road tests and home‑court opportunities, with the non‑conference slate designed to sharpen the Lady Vols before conference play.
